The fairy-tale pick of the eight: twelve months ago Marsman was riding for the small Dutch continental team VolkerWessels, and now he lines up in Barcelona for his first ever Grand Tour. Promoted to the WorldTour for 2026, the Hattem-born rouleur sealed his Tour ticket with a gutsy Dutch championships ride, the last man clinging to eventual winner Wilco Kelderman on the hills around Nijmegen. He is here to haul bottles, drive the train and soak it all in.

Palmarès

  • Winner, opening time trial stage of Olympia's Tour (2025)
  • 4th overall Olympia's Tour (2025)
  • 2nd overall Tour du Loir-et-Cher (2025)
  • Last rider to follow winner Wilco Kelderman at the Dutch national road race championships (2026)
Cut-out factHe beat Alpecin's own cyclocross star Tibor Del Grosso to the final spot in the Tour squad — a year after racing Dutch domestic kermesse-level events in continental colours.
